Twenty years ago, I graduated from The Leelanau School. This weekend, my alma mater bestowed upon me the honor of being their 2020 graduation speaker! When I accepted, I anticipated traveling back to Michigan this weekend and speaking at the school in a traditional ceremony. Well, there has been nothing traditional about this year! Covid-19 shut down the campus and in true Leelanau fashion we overcame adversity. This year’s graduation was a marvel of modern day technology, made even more special by a brilliant graduating class and charismatic faculty.

My speech delves into my history, experience at Leelanau and advice to the graduating class. Special thanks to Headmaster Rob Hansen for extending the invitation and to my Mom Yakira Shimoni Fulks Art for helping me film and perfect this video!

Enjoy,

Asaf
